We are two women from different countries and cultures, brought together by a shared passion for law, a love for Portugal and the sunny Algarve lifestyle.

My name is Inês Carvalho Fernandes, I am a Portuguese local lawyer, born in the vibrant city of Lisbon and raised on the breathtaking island of Madeira, a place I am proud to still call ´home´. 

I graduated from the University of Lisbon in 2018, where I obtained my law degree, and soon after became a member of the Portuguese Bar Association.

I am a Portuguese lawyer with strong local roots in the Algarve, a region I am truly passionate about. 

I have had the privilege of working with renowned law firms in the well-known Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago areas, where I developed extensive, hands-on experience in Portuguese property law, commercial law, and labor law. 

Working closely with both national and international clients has strengthened my practical approach and my commitment to providing clear, reliable, and locally grounded legal advice.

My name is Agnes Hageman-Schouten, and I am originally from the Netherlands, with over 12 years of international experience as a legal counsel. I graduated from the University of Leiden in 2010, where I completed my Master’s degree in Public International Law.

I began my professional career in the Netherlands, working as a legal counsel before relocating to Asia. There, I served as Senior In-House Legal Counsel for a multinational hospitality company, covering multiple jurisdictions across both Asia and Europe. 

After more than five amazing years in Asia, I moved to São Brás de Alportel, Portugal - a place I am proud to call home now. Having personally experienced what it means to relocate and build a life in a different country, I understand the challenges involved. 

Dutch is my native language, enabling me to ensure clear communication and accurate translations, and to support (Dutch) clients with confidence and clarity at every stage of the process.
